Favorites-"Radio Proof"

I was reading another website (see listing below) and he was talking about one of his favorite records being Just My Imagination by The Temptations. That is also one of my favorites. It's played all the time, and still listen to it. Radio hasn't ruined it for me. I guess for me it's "radio-proof". The definition of bulletproof is Impenetrable by bullets. The radio can overplay it, and I still enjoy it.
Once in awhile I'll talk about "Radio-Proof" impenetrable by radio songs for me.

That other site is The Hits Just Keep On Comin' http://jabartlett.wordpress.com/ He has some good music stuff on it.

Doug:

Thanks for the mention of "The Hits Just Keep on Comin'." You have some extremely interesting stuff over here yourself.

Regarding your post on the longbox, a bit down the page, they were a scourge of humanity for sure. Wasteful and hard to get open. In addition to being harder to steal, they also allowed record stores to stock CDs on the same shelving they used for vinyl albums. One of my favorite stores still encases CDs in long plastic boxes so they'll fit in the old record display racks.

Keep up the good work over here.

I just came from jb's blog on a whim. Your insight (along with the great label scans) proves to be quite refreshing. I'll have to find some of my favourite timeless hits. "Just My Imagination" is a good start, but then again you can't go wrong with Motown, at least most of the time...
I'll chime in on the longbox fiasco too. I worked for one of those "corporate" record stores back in the late 80s and I can tell you professional shoplifters had no problem stealing stacks of our inventory right under our noses, even with those useless sensormatic tags. In most cases, I'd much rather buy a good old fashioned album...
Keep fighting the good fight...

Peace and blessings.
