1st Current 45s

I just heard I'm A Believer on the radio, so I thought I would show everyone the first 45s I bought that were currently on the charts, when I bought them.
As pictured before, Batman Theme by the Marketts was the first 45 I bought, but it was an oldie at the time (by a couple months).

Of course I wrote my name on the records and the picture sleeve. I don't know what the number 1 on Snoopy Vs The Red Baron, and 3 on I'm A Believer were for, but there must have been a purpose.
By the way, I bought these at White Front for 59 cents each plus tax.

Maybe that was your sorting
order for these records.
Number them and then keep a list
of where there are. ????
No databases as such back then.
No excel, no Access.......

Your sites are great. So consistent and true to their themes.

Does anyone have any history info on the local IE record stores like Lyle's and Gillette's? When were they started, when did they close? Any info on owners or operators?

I just loved cruising over to Gillete's in Riverside for the atmosphere.

More record store stuff.

When I was a "kid" and I got my first Chipmunks album at Harris's San Bernardino I think they had listening booths but prices were high. Sage's prices were generally high as well.

White Front has some good bargins. I remember new release specials about $2.33 maybe in 1968.
