A half dozen of some unusual 45s I own are featured belows
Time Has Come Today-Chambers Brothers This is not the version you know. 1966 version, similar but shorter, with some unusual instrumentation. Cloudy Summer Afternoon-Bud & Travis I have never heard this on the radio, found it used in the 1960s. Laid back folk song, Lovin' Spoonful could have done it. Barry McGuire did do it.

Won a radio station contest in 1967 and received a copy of Wonderful Wino-George Carlin

This was a huge hit instrumental in San Bernardino in 1969. didn't get a copy until about ten years later. The Minotaur-Dick Hyman 7 1/2 minutes of synthesizer, and listed as side 2

Love Get Away-Georgie Fame Pop Jazz Rock song

The Joker Went Wild-Brian Hyland One of the first songs I heard on the radio and really liked. I never realized until recently that it was a Bobby Russell song

Smothers Brothers

I've liked the Smothers Brothers since I saw them on The Tonight show in the middle 60s.I especially liked their first TV series when Tommy played an angel (only one season, folks) I wish that would come out on DVD (at least just to hear the theme song), and maybe even their Comedy Hour from the 60s. What surprised me is that one of my teenage daughters actually liked them. I played some videos I made in the late 80s of their comeback/20th Anniversary Shows of The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and she enjoyed them. So I pulled out this CD, and she wanted more, so I had to search for what vinyl I had. She played them and enjoyed the records, but complained about one side of one album where they were just singing, and no comedy.

Rhino put out a second CD.

The Bush...in The Sun
The Bush who had local San Bernardino/Riverside hits with Feelin' Sad and Lonely and Who Killed The Ice Cream Man finally got an article written about them in The San Bernardino Sun newspaper. Tuesday February 12, 2008 on page B-8 of the Inland Living section of the paper, there was an article written by Nick Caltado, the San Bernardino historian.

I bought the new Eagles 2 CD set today at Sam's Club. 20 songs. I listened to the 11 songs on the first disc, and I like it. How Long is especially good. Sounds like a pre-Hotel California song. Great price. A two record set 35 years ago, would have cost you about the same. I don't particularly like that the only place retail that carries it is Wal-Mart/Sam's Club, but...

The Columbia Record Club has been around for a long time. They put out exclusie records for their members, usually a compiltion of hits, or reissues of deleted albums.
Usually the compiations had a wide variety of songs. Some hits, some cover versions, some good, some bad.
Nowadays you may find them at garage sales or thrift stores.
One series they did was headliners for the year.
I decided to make the ultimate headliners '66For the first time on CD headliners '66, with the actual headliners from Columbia Records in 1966.
Unttil I put this compilation together I didn't realize Columbia and Epic had so many hits in 1966.

If they would have put out a two record set like this at the end of 1966, I would have bought it.

There wasn't a swap meet this last weekend at the Orange Show grounds, but there was a Record Show in Claremont. CA. I went to on Sunday. Lot of expensive stuff, some cheap stuff (bought a lot of 45s for 10 cents each!)I bought two garage band CDs.
The Bush which includes local hits Who Killed The Ice Cream Man?/Feeling Sad and Lonely/Don't You Fret, Some live cuts and demos. 27 songs plus a bonus.
The Light had one single on A&M with Back Up/Music Box with a similar CD with 25 songs.

I'm very happy with both.

Buttons of The Beatles

Anyone own any Beatle buttons? I have a couple. The first is a double picture, depending on the angle you look at it. The scan shows a portion of each picture. I've only had this for a couple years, but it appears to be an original. The other with the same picture from the "I Want To Hold Your Hand" picture sleeve, I've had over 40 years.

Only CDs and DVDs this week at the Swp Meet. Haven't listened to the C & N, but I like both of the singers. The disc is from 2004.
For a buck had to get a double feature of William Shatner. The first movie is from 1973, but the second is from 1965, maybe the last thing he did before Star Trek. That's just a guess, anyone know the facts? On the box, it stes the second feature is in black & white. Do I dare open it and watch?

In the early 80's I used to sell records at the swap meet (Orange Show) on a regular basis, and a person who bought records from me was Tony Felicetta. He is a musician and released a couple of records (maybe more). The first was as Rikki Rush, and later as part of the group Big Shots.

I did not realize until a few years later that he was the nephew of a good friend of mine, Peter Felicetta. (You think the last name would have given me a clue)
Tony is now working with the Beatles tribute band "The Fab Four"

Swap Meet-78 rpm

The only record I bought at the swap meet this week was a 78 on Capital Records Dead End Street/California Waltz-Cliffie Stone.
Dead End Street was written by Stan Freberg and Cliffie Stone. Thge vocal on California Waltz is by Billy Strange
Cliffie Stone also played with Tennessee Ernie Ford.
I met Cliffie Stone once sometimes in the late 1980's. It was at a garage sale. I bought some Cliffie Stone 45s, and he told me I was buying some of his records.. I said ok, then he elaborated saying he was Cliffie Stone, then proceeding to tell me his musical history.

Youngbloods Get Together RCA and Nilsson, too.

In 1967 The Youngbloods had their first hit single: Get Together. It wasn't a very big hit. In 1969 it was rereleased and nationally made it to #5.
Why was the same version a hit 2 years later?
In 1969 it was used in a commercial as a theme for National Conference of Christians and Jews. It caught on with record buyers, and it was a hit. Even though The Youngbloods released a lot of singles, this was their only top 40 hit.1967 version with All My Dreams Blue on the flip side
1969 version with Beautiful on the flip side.

This happened to another RCA artist. Nilsson released Everybody's Talkin' in 1968, and did not make the national top 100. Although the local station KFXM played the flip side Don't Leave Me and it got up to #30 in 1968.

It was rereleased in 1969 after being included in the movie Midnight Cowboy and went to #6 nationally. The new flip side was Rainmaker. I couldn't find a copy of that single, but it was on the newer RCA label like the one above.

Bonus single, a promo 45 of their first single. I had a couple of this before I had ever heard of the Youngbloods. I played it and I liked it.

A true story: In an English class I took in high school, the guy I sat next to, played in a local band. The name of the band wasThe YB Blues Band. He told me when they started they called themselves The Youngbloods, but they were contacted by RCA and told to change their names. (His name I don't remember) I do remember the group playing a lot of local concerts, and listed in KFXM as winning a Battle Of The Bands at least once.

Thee Zends

I found this acetate a few years ago. I can't remember where, when or what I paid for it. It was probably in a box of 45s I bought.
Little Girl is the Syndicate of Sound song, so this was recorded in 1966 or later. The group does a decent version.
The flip, Meet Stella must be an original. Definitely garage rock, but the song starts out with a mention of Dion's Runaround Sue, and starts comparing her to Stella. I would never had thought of using the name Stella in a song.
Anyone familiar with Thee Zends? Where are they from? Anyone not familiar with acetates? They are usually made as demos, and very few are made. Each member of the group probably got one, plus some sent out to record companies, and radio stations. This one is larger than a 45, about an 8 inch record.

Lewis & Clark Expedition

Their only charting hit. I like the song, and it should have been a bigger hit. Travis Lewis (Michael Martin Murphy) and Boomer Clarke (Boomer Castleman). Released on Colgems records (The Monkees label) I always thought the picture made them look more like maniquins than real people.

Only vinyl I picked up today was a Simon & Garfunkel Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme LP on the original label in almost perfect condition for 1.00

If you like Elvis Presley, you probably have a few favorite songs. A couple picture sleeves among my favorite Elvis songs. I've Got A Thing About You Baby. I loved this song when it came out, like a lot of my favorite Elvis songs from the 60s and 70s, was not a big hit.
A later reissue of Guitar Man picture sleeve, but another one that was great when it came out in the late 60s.
Great doubled sided Christmas single reissued when the LP was reissued.

Other favorite Elvis songs:

30 years ago today Elvis left us.

I was working at the library, and Hector (or Joe, dependeing on who you ask)) said, "Let's take a break and go get something to drink. so we took my car over to (insert fast food place name here). The radio was turned on and Elvis' death was announced. All Hector could say was " I can't believe Elvis is dead."

That's where I was at when I heard the news.

Today is Vinyl Record Day

After I started buying records, I needed a better record player than the single play with a steel needle. My parents bought me a prtable GE with atached speakers. That lasted until at least 1971, about the date of the picture below. Two years later I took the following picture. Updated Combo stereo/8 Track recorder

(new curtains/new TV-bigger, but now black & white)

Two pictures put together below, a few years later, finally components, and back to the old color TV. Don't ask me to explain the Barbara Mandell album, I have no explanation.

You see, now I have albums. After More of The Monkees I remember the next two I bought new were Green River-Creedence and Moody Blues Days Of Future Passed. Both albums purchased at Two Guys.

One story I need to tell that directly relates to vinyl.

One day I was at Woolworths (about 1968) looking at the 3/1.00 records. When I got there there were two other guys my age looking at the records. I talked to them, and I found a Big Brother & Holding Company single I wanted. One of the guy's wanted it, too. I'm not sure if I bought it, or gave it to him, but I don't think I have it anymore.

The two guys are Gary and Bill. I still know both of them. Gary I see every couple years. Bill still goes with me to the Swapmeet every week.

The interesting thing about Bill is I introduced myself to him, and I asked him what his name was, and he said, "What do want to know for?" I mentioned this story to him today and he told me that he would probably say the same thing today to the same question, and I agreed with him.

The best place I ever bought vinyl in the 70s was Macs Electronics. For a couple of years they would have jukebox singles in a big bin for a nickel, with new ones every week. I found Buddy Holly, Beatles and Elvis in there, and a lot of unusual songs that weren't very big hits. I probably spent 3-4.00 a week for a year. That's 60-80 records a week! That really built up my collection.

They eventually stopped getting them in, I had dreams about that store for years. Dreams about going back, and there were the records, again! But it never happened.

Well, Happy Vinyl Record Day! Thank you Thomas Edison for getting it all started.

Swap Meet-Record Vinyl Day

It was pretty sad today. I only bought one piece of vinyl at the Swap Meet on Record Vinyl Day. This is a Canadian issue of Bachman Turner Overdrive Live Japan Tour.
I did also buy a CD which features 10 singles released on vinyl in 1976. What a combination of songs.

Pre-Collecting Days of Vinyl

Back in the Fifties and early Sixties before I started collecting records, like most people, my parents owned some records, a few 78s and a few 45s. Along with this they had a small single play record player that played all speeds with a steel needle. It was the kind they allowed me to play, and I did.
Later they bought me some records. The small yellow kids records (45/78) with the small hole. The Disney yellow 45 rpms in the booklets, and least two LPs.

Two of the 78 I played over and over again were The Muscrat Song and The Hole In The Ground, both I believe by Tex Ritter. Also I'm Hogtied Over You by Tenesee Ernie Ford & Ella Mae Morse
I remember two of the small yellow records. "Frosty The Snowman" "The Little Red Wagon". I played those to death. "Treasure Island" was the Disney 45s in the book.
The 45s I remember were I'm Throwing Rice/Show Me The Way Back To Your Heart-Eddy Arnold and The Old Spinning Wheel-Hank Snow & Chet Atkins and Christmas Boogie/Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer by Honey Chile Robinson

There were also two kids albums my parents bought me. A Captain Kangaroo Album that included the songs I Love A Parade, Waltzing Maltilda and Johnny One Note, and an album that included different Disney soundtrack cuts including Peter Pan and Pinichio

Of all these records all that I think is left in my collection is the Honey Chile Robinson 45. It used to have a picture sleeve, but I remember my dad tearing it half and throwing it away. I think he tore everything in half he threw away.
Oh yes, my parents also had a Bing Croby Christmas album, and the singer Sewing machine Christmas Album!

Vinyl Record Day

Jb at The Hits Just Keep on Comin' has organized this, head in that direction and you can check it out.
Vinyl Record Day is Sunday, Aug. 12, which turns out to be the 130th anniversary of the invention of the phonograph by Thomas Edison.
How will the vinyl record be celebrated? Probably by most bloggers talking about record collecting.

I started collecting records in the summer of 1966, and the first record was a 45 Batman Theme by The Marketts. Following that I bought all three for 1.00 closeout 45s for awhile, including Hanky Panky, Psychtic Reaction, Sunny, You Keep Me Hanging On, Guantanmera. I didn;t buy a current hit until I purchased I'm A Believer and Snoopy Vs The Red Baron at White Front.

First 33 1/3 vinyl I bought was a cheapie, an album of Beatle covers by The Sparrows called That Mersy Sound For the longest time I liked their version of Do You Want To Know A Secret better than The Beatles. The first current album I bought was More Of The Monkees

Where did I buy my vinyl? White Front, Two Guys, Wollworths, and local record store Lyle's Record City.
Below picture sleeve I bought years later (a little raggedy) but Donovan really reminds me of the first year I listened to the radio and bought records. Sunshine Superman and Mellow Yellow were huge hits, and the radio played his olderstuff all the time (Catch The wind, Universal Soldier, Colours, Josie)

I bought vinyl from ebay. I really like Cashman, Pistilli and West (Cashman & West) Terry Cashman, Gene Pistilli, Tommy West as I mentioned before. My latest purchase Ruby Tuesday/Mr. Bojangles-Gene Pistilli
Surprised that both sides are cover versions. Good versions. Vinyl is the only way to get these songs, as far as I know.

Bought one record album at the swap meet today. An oldies compilation album in excellent condition. Mostly R & B hits from the 50s and early 60s. Includes songs like Cherry Pie, Rockin' Robin, Earth Angel and Angel Baby. The back has interesting liner notes, mentioning DJ Earl McDaniel and KLAC, KFWB and KPOP

Also bought a couple of CDs Big Brother and the Holding Company feturing Janis Joplin, and the Beach Boys All Summer Long.

Paid 2.00 for each CDs this week. Always wanted to hear ZOOM by ELO, which is actually Jeff Lynne with a few guest stars such as Ringo Starr and George Harrison. My wife said it sounded like The Traveling Wiburys. If he would have added Bob Dylan and Tom Petty it would have been.
Now Bob Dylan has four songs on the Soundtrack I bought, but I haven't listened to it yet.
Traveling Wilburys 3 isn't as good as 1, but it's ok.
Also need to listen to Buck Owens. Medicine Ball was a dollar, not too bad, since it's still sealed. Featuring musical entertainment like The Youngbllods, B.B. King, Alice Cooper, Delaney and Bonnie, Sal Valentino, Doug Kershaw. I probably will open it just to see what it sounds like.
Its Lulu 1970 albu (also a dollar) on Epic. By this time she was releasing records on Atco, so these songs probably came from the Epic vault. Includes cover versions such as I Started A Joke, Cry Like A Baby, The Mighty Quinn. The liner notes are from a 1967 article.

Even though listening to the radio and buying records was the main thing I did for recreation in 1966, I also watched television. Time Tunnel premiered and had their finale in the 1966-67 television season.I was a fan. So when the series came out on DVD (One season 2 parts) I bought it. It drives my wife and kids crazy, and all they do is make fun of it, but they do watch it with me. We are about to start watching Part 2 soon

Couple of singles I bought this week at the Orange Show Swap Meet.
The first is a single my parents had back in the 1950s (geen vinyl and all) I'm Throwing Rice (at The Girl That I Love)-Eddie Arnold (I think my dad really like this one, he used to sing it), and the flip side Show Me The Way Back To Your Heart. I think the flip was a little catchier. Cost 1.00 Cool Stan Freberg single The Flackman and Reagan (part 1 and 2) Cost another dollar.

Ambrose (Part Five). I think it is actually part 1, or maybe they never released the first 4 parts.. There was a sequel later, that I've never heard.
This is an unusual song about a girl and guy walking along with the girl doing the most talking. The guy is Ambrose and he sounds like a tough street character.
What is unusual is that I have two teenage daughters, who heard this and thought it was wonderful. That I did not understand. The oldest had to have a copy to play herself. Early Eddie Rabbitt. The fliop side is called Six Nights and Seven Days. I like a lot of his songs, andI thought it was unusual that he had a record on this label Rosie & The Originals. don't know if it's an authentic autograph or not, but it only cost me50 cents.

This is not the same group!

Boenzee Cryque

In 1967 I won a package of 45 rpm records from KFXM. One of the records (what the other ones were I don't remember) was Sky Gone Gray by Bonezee Cryque. I knew nothing about the group. I played the song and it was really strange, but interesting enough (actually strange enough) to listen to again. Maybe it was the flip side Still In Love With You Baby (a Beau Brummels song) that got me to play the record more.
The date was written on this record when I received it (3/25/1967), so it might have been played on the station, but I don't remember ever hearing it.
Found out later that the group was from Colorado (huge hit in Colorado), and that Rusty Young, who later was in POCO, was a member of this group.

No Records Today at the Swap Meet

Today I went to the Swap Meet, and normally I buy records. Well, today for the first time as far back as I remember, I bought no records. Zero, zilch. There were records there, but nothing I wanted. It made my wife happy.
But, I did buy some CDs. The following two were among them. Elvis Presley The Top Ten Hits for 6.00, and Brian Setzer Orchestra Boogie Woogie Christmas for 2 bucks.

Draggin' The Line The big hit by Tommy James as a solo artist in 1971.. This song is played constantly. I still won't turn it off! My wife comlains about the strange lyrics, but I think that makes it better. I love the intro through the end of the song. Originally the flip side of a flop by Tommy James Church Street Soul Revival released in 1970.

Radio-Proof "Bang........"

T. Rex- Bang A Gong (Get It On). This is one most people probably won't agree with me on, but this is a "don't turn off" song on the radio. They have really started to overplay it on the radio, so that may change for me in the future.
The other day when it came on the radio, my wife wanted to change the station, because she already heard it that day. She'll just have to read my blog to understand.

http://www.kfxm.com/ If you like music from the 1950s, 1960s and maybe even the 1970s go to this website and listen to the station. It's 96.7 KFXM out of Lancaster, Ca. The great thing about it is that you don't hear all the same music oldies stations usually play.
Yesterday they played Jennifer Eccles by the Hollies, and Bluebird by Buffalo Springfield. This is normal. Yes you may still hear Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison (but not on a regular basis) and Happy Together by The Turtles, but you just may hear Buy For Me The Rain by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
You get a regular dose of Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Everly Brothers and Gene Vincent, too. Hey I've actually heard The Big Bopper's Wedding on there, too.Great 1960's jingles, and very limited commercials.
Most of the time, there are no DJs, but sometimes on the weekends, you will hear a few such as Chris Compton and Big Bad Bill.

Dion-Make The Woman Love Me No Phil Spector did not write the song. B.Mann-C. Weil wrote it. It was produced by Phil, arranged by Nino Tempo. The Orchestra was The Wall Of Sound.

Space Invaders and some answer records

Early video games included a game called Space Invaders. Someone named Uncle Vic recorded a song based on the game. It was a fun record, but the only place I've ever heard it was on the Dr. Demento show. Space Invaders has disappeared forever. My 16 year had never heard of the game. Answer songs were sometimes popular. I'm Normal was the answer to They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha!! Ha!! The Emperer is actually "Emperer" Bob Hudson from KRLA and other Southern California stations.

The answer song to Ode To Billy Joe-Bobbie Gentry solves some of mystery and tells some later "events" The Mystery of Tallahatchie Bridge-Roger White

Take 2001 Space Odyssey Theme add a little banjo, and that kind of exlains the title. I guess this is the country answer to Also Sprach Zarathustra. 2002 R.F.D. by The Douglas Brothers

Hi Doug, I really enjoy your blog, thanks for doing it. Those days in the Inland Empire were the greatest and I was privileged to work at both stations. Here's what I've got for you. I'll need your mailing address to send it to you. I'm going to attach a picture to this e-mail to give you an idea of the size of the item, here's the background. Back in 1968 Dave McCormick was Program Director of K/MEN and was swarmed by record promoters to add their songs to our playlist. It got to the point he decided to play a practical joke on them. He promised them a bigger and expanded playlist that would surpass anything ever seen in radio!! He kept on assuring them that soon it would be completed. After several weeks went by, he had our playlist blown up and printed. We then mailed the new playlist to all record promoters and companies.
I have two copies and I'm giving you one of them for your collection. When you get your copy you'll notice a small message titled: "Fellow Record Guys". There you have it. The picture I'm sending you was taken last Sunday. Enjoy,

"Radio Proof" songs are songs that even though overplayed on the radio, I haven't got tired of them, so I won't change the station.

I'm putting up Beatle picture sleeves, so I'll combine the two.

The first two U.S. Capital singles are "Radio Proof" to me. If I Want To Hold Your Hand or Can't Buy Me Love are played on the radio, I won't change the station.

You would think Capital could come up with a little bit different picture sleeve for the second single.

I was reading another website (see listing below) and he was talking about one of his favorite records being Just My Imagination by The Temptations. That is also one of my favorites. It's played all the time, and still listen to it. Radio hasn't ruined it for me. I guess for me it's "radio-proof". The definition of bulletproof is Impenetrable by bullets. The radio can overplay it, and I still enjoy it.
Once in awhile I'll talk about "Radio-Proof" impenetrable by radio songs for me.

I just heard I'm A Believer on the radio, so I thought I would show everyone the first 45s I bought that were currently on the charts, when I bought them.
As pictured before, Batman Theme by the Marketts was the first 45 I bought, but it was an oldie at the time (by a couple months).

Of course I wrote my name on the records and the picture sleeve. I don't know what the number 1 on Snoopy Vs The Red Baron, and 3 on I'm A Believer were for, but there must have been a purpose.

By the way, I bought these at White Front for 59 cents each plus tax.

Rhinos 2 inch CDs

In the 1980s/90s three inch CDs appeared on the market. They never did catch on. Rhino had the best series of oldies. 4 songs per CD, by 1950s and 1960s groups. Sometimes on their CD3s there were songs that were hard to find anywhere else on CD. There were probably at least 75 different titles. Sometimes Volume 1 and 2 such as this Tommy James. They came in long packaging, too. A couple here still sealed. At first they even came with an adapter (no longer necessary in newer CD players.

Original McDonalds' Sign

Before Ray Kroc owned McDonalds, the McDonald brothers had built the first McDonalds on "E" Street in San Bernardino in the late 1940's or early 1950's.
All that is left is the original sign, that was remodeled a few years ago, and is front of a McDonalds "Museum". Here is a picture a friend of mine took a few years ago with his Corvair parked next to the sign.

45s That Are a Little Different

Novelty records. Lover Boy-Johnny Royal. The song concerns the girl next door who is after the singer of this song who starts out at the age of 6 to the age of 10. Her voice makes her sound a lot older than he is. Lover boy, I'm going to get you... . I think he has his own stalker.
The instrumentation is very similar to the Surfaris Surfer Joe, a lot of surf guitar.

You've Been Torturing Me-The Four Young Men

This song is about a guy who was tortured by his girlfriend because she was cheating on him. So he was telling her how he was going to torture her. It starts out with "I'm going to stomp you on top of your foot, and hang you from a big long fishing hook, and drop you to the plum bottom of the sea...(because) you love my friends the same as little old me. "

I believe the Hollywood Argyles did a version of this. And I would say this is in the style of that group.

Reminds me of Weird Al's One Minute More, except Weird Al was torturing himself.

"Recko The Robot, the funny iron man." Ever since the first time I played it, my teenage daughters sang along with it. My wife said I was torturing her. This states it's from a cartoon by Dave Fleisher on the label. Who is Cathy Carter, child prodigy?

Interesting Remakes

These are a few singles released in the sixties remaking older songs, that I think were good enough to get played on the radio. They weren't in my local area and they didn't even chart nationally. Did anyone ever hear these versions in their hometown? Little Bitty Pretty One by Jewel Akens was more of a rock arrangement than the original. A lot different than the Birds and The Bees, his hit in 1965. Colgems 66-1009 puts it out in late 1967.

If this said The Beatles instead of The Fourmost, it would have been another hit for Capital Records. The arrangement is very similar to The Beatles version. They had Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby out at the time (1966)

If Louis Armstrong released this after Hello Dolly! he could have had two hits in a roll. Instead this was released in 1968. The flip side is When You Wish Upon A Star. After all it is on Buena Vista Records

Chicago-Make Me Smile/Colour My World. They seemed to use similar pictures for album covers and picture sleeves. The stripes on the sleeve seem to be a result of the scanner.

After collecting Superman comic books, I started to collect records. The first single I bought was appropriate. Batman Theme by Marketts. It was no longer on the charts, it was in the cheapie bin at Lyle's Record City. 39 cents plus tax. And yes, my name and initials went on the record and sleeve.

Wipeout by The Surfaris on the Princess Label. Bought this in the last few years. I think I paid a quarter for it at a garage sale.

Unknown to me before I found this record. River Rock Part 1 and 2. Famous writers. My copy is pretty scratched u, but I like it. Froggy Landers also had a release on Specialty Records called Cherokee Dance. This one is similar sounding, and I like this song better. The singer sounds like he needs cough drops, perhaps the inspiration for their name.
